The more I learn about nutrition, the more I realize that the food we eat on a regular base is not real food. It is full of preservatives, hormones, pesticides, dyes, overly processed and devoid of nutrients. Fast food is not what we think it is, the food is so full of fat and calories. There isn’t much in our food that our bodies need or can even use.
What is the solution? If we think about when God created the world, the foods He gave us to eat in the Garden of Eden, we can get a better picture of what we are supposed to be eating. He gave us fresh fruits and vegetables, and nuts. Later on He gave people meat to eat and I am not saying we should be vegetarians but it is worth looking at.
Eating lean meats like fish and chicken are really good for you. You can purchase chicken that has been farm raised without all of the hormones. The fruits and vegetables we eat should be as close to fresh as possible without all the preservatives. We can eat so much better than we are.
I was researching online and found Paleo Diet Recipes. It uses ingredients like meat, fish, shellfish, eggs, nuts, vegetables, roots, herbs, spices, mushrooms, fruits and berries. The recipes are free of grain, potatoes, dairy and sugar. This sounded similar to what I was thinking about that God provided in the beginning for men and women to eat.
It wouldn’t be too hard to follow this diet. Not only would this diet be healthier but maybe I can even get to a healthier weight. I decided to go for it and although I am still in the research stage right now I am looking forward to getting started on this new way to eat.
